National Parks Gallery

The moment I awaken these days I sense so many challenges. I worry about the extraordinary difficulties presented to our one world by a runaway pandemic, by possible nuclear catastrophes and by climate disruption. As an artist, in response, I feel that I am driven to create visually, on the surface of a canvas, my reactions, desires and hopes. After spending years painting and blogging about various negative aspects of the nuclear world, I recently have begun a new series of artworks. I am finding it crucial for my sanity to reconnect via my art with the natural beauty surrounding us especially when we have such gorgeous spaces in our American landscape. Another reason for developing these nature-based paintings is to help bring awareness about the damaging efforts by this administration which are directed towards despoiling and ravaging these lands through reopening mining, drilling, and fossil fuel exploration.
